Today was the last official Islamic Studies lesson for the semester - what a relief! Well, maybe not yet, the final exam is this coming Thursday so I've gotta study my mind to shreads before then. I'm more or less confident I'll be passing the subject either way, but might as well put some effort into it, right? (Yes, all the people in my world, you know I can't stand to walk into something utterly unprepared - so just a little XP).

So class (Islamic Studies class) wasn't very eventful today. When is it ever eventful to begin with?

Don't answer that!

Whatever!

But before its close, Ustazah put on one of the Video assignments (the best one) from one of her classes this semester, not mine, obviously! I have to say, it was pretty good. I, for one, have absolutely no idea how I could have done what they did though; I was alone in doing the project after all!!

So after the inspiring video that clearly got its intended message across, she read to us this cool poem about 'Islam' - well, at least I thought it was cool. Who knows what my other classmates thought. Now just to set things clear, Islam really has been so vastly altered by our current generation of Muslims it's hard to say for certain what the religion, in itself, really is. The poem below does a pretty decent job at that though. Sadly, I haven't found who the author is. No worries, it's not mine, that's for sure.

If it's anything I've reflected on today, it's how ignorance has played a part in what people in the modern world make of Islam. Our (fellow Muslims) morale is dropping, has been dropping, and will only continue to fall less we take our stand and relieve the times when we were truly great.

I kinda wish I could see it now, the 'true' Islam.
