11.5.09 -- Disney~

So I turned on the television during dinner (as per usual) to help keep me entertained through out the meal, and guess what was on the Disney Chanel? Heh, one is free to keep guessing, or simply read on.

Mulan has got to be one of the best animated Disney movies of all time. Of course, this is (as many things are on my blog), MY opinion. Which clearly means the rest of you peeps out there are entitled to your own.

Still, personally, the way I see it is anyone out there who thinks animated Disney movies are for little kids, well, then odds are you're probably some deranged teenager/adult by now with either a definite lack of moral values discernible or are possibly even in possession of none whatsoever. Haha, no offence meant~

I think most animated (some none animated even) Disney movies are really great in helping people learn certain values.

For example, in Mulan, we can learn that sheer determination will get you places. Oh, and perhaps we can also get the message that sometimes the power of the mind is stronger than brute strength. There are other lessons to be learnt too, of course I can't list them all down cause that will probably take like forever, but there's the importance of family, following your heart, not changing who you are to meet the expectations of society, etc.

Then we have some other movies like Pocahontas which kind of makes one think of the true meaning behind the word 'savage'. It also makes you understand that there's more to the world than money; and then there's the whole nature-connection thing about the earth, the trees, you catch my drift.

Nonetheless, these two aren't the only Disney movies worth watching and learning from. One can grasp a couple of other things through movies like The Little Mermaid, Cinderella (that my mom so accuses me of watching endlessly as a little kiddiewink), The Lion King, Tarzan, Brother Bear, gosh I so can't name every animated Disney movie that I've ever watched--memory's still as sucky as ever.

An example of a non-animated one? Maybe try Enchanted. That movie was a load of fun~

Ah, and what I really like about these movies I suppose, is the songs they all come with. Disney songs really have some of the best lyrics out there with equal comedic-genius to match. Totally love a variety of Disney songs. Plus they carry such meaning~

Know what, I'll just leave you people alone to think about all this while listening to the songs below.

This one above is (no doubt one can guess) from Mulan. Pretty much the turning point for her in the movie, more or less. I think it's great and inspiring.
As to the link below, it's the famed 'Colors of the Wind' song from Pocahontas. A really beautiful song, and true in so many ways. The embedded feature was disabled so the linkie it is!!
