19.9.09 -- The Real Deal
Yeah, you've really gotta be living under a rock or something if you don't know the girl in the picture above. Still, just incase you REALLY don't, I'll fill you in. Her name's Taylor Swift; a 19-year-old American country singer-songwriter who exploded onto the scene some three (3) years ago with her debut single 'Tim McGraw'. That single was of course followed up by the song that led me to knowing of her existence: 'Teardrops on My Guitar'.
Both are stellar-ly beautiful songs in their own way if you haven't (by some miracle) listened to them. Ah, but by no means are these the only amazing songs she has up her sleeve. Some of my favorites include the all-famous number 'Love Story', 'Our Song' and 'You Belong With Me'; all of which have very moving lyrics and a nice (somewhat pop/country) tune.
So why am I dedicating a whole blog post to her? Well, frankly I think she quite deserves it. Having read her interview on a Seventeen magazine not too long ago, I pretty much realized that this was no ordinary 19-year-old. The way she answered the many questions of the interview...you'd think this was someone who had experienced the world and had some darn exquisite bags of wisdom in that brain of hers to prove it--yet she's 19?!
Indeed, I'd encourage everyone to find that interview of hers.
Taylor seems incredibly mature for her young age, if I do say so myself. She is (after all) only a year my senior. I guess though that her somewhat born-to-be-a-writer talents have contributed to this a great sum. Apparently she either writes or co-writes all her songs and they are even often enough based on her own personal experiences making them easily relatable and truthful (though mostly about the trials of love).
Just goes to show that a voice isn't all it takes to succeed in the music industry. Taylor's music reaches out to people and I guess that's what I like about her.
The way I see it the girl's got it made--she's pretty and tall, definitely wise if not smart, humble (judged on the mny times I've spotted her on TV), and obviously she has talent others would probably die for (I know I would--to be able to write beautiful and honest lyrics like she can). Sure she's not the greatest performer and in no ways can she belt like some other country singers such as Carrie Underwood but this girl is special in her own way and it's uplifting...watching someone like her make it bigtime.
I really do think Taylor's an inspiration to a lot of people out there; me included.
Go Taylor!! ^_^
The rest is still unwritten...
